Are you a stay at home (or work at home) mom that wants so desperately to escape the sweat pants? You want a small wardrobe, but you have no clue how to put enough casual outfits together. Here’s help.
Do you ever notice the way you dress affects how you feel?
Think about it for a second. When you dress in leggings and a faded sweatshirt, are you more likely to:
a) Finish all those emails, write that report for work, schedule all those meetings, run a few errands or
b) Pull your laptop onto the couch with you, get a couple emails sent and lose yourself in Netflix.
Yep, I am a B.
Since I work from home, I need to create a very distinct line between work time and home time. I create that through the way I dress. Each morning, I find that getting dressed like I’m planning to see people makes me more likely to get everything on my to-do list, DONE.

Call it upscale casual. Still comfortable, but ready to see others at a moment’s notice.
Try it for yourself. Here are some outfits to get you started:
Jean Casual Outfits
Jeans are the ultimate in comfort. Most creative workplaces allow denim for everyday wear. It’s the easiest to dress up and still look great.

I use this outfit combination ALL THE TIME! I simply swap out the top and necklace for a completely new look.
Fitted Pants Casual Outfits
Fitted pants are professional leggings. They are stretchy yet don’t boast any loud patterns or unflattering cling. Also, they are super comfortable.
Try on some wedges, fitted pants and denim jacket with a bright top. I love to add a little shine with a long necklace.
Sweater Casual Outfits
You can still have your comfy sweater/ leggings feel while looking put together. Choose a sweater that fits close to the body – not too tight or too loose – and pair it with some skinny (or boot cut if you would like to de-emphasize your thigh area) and a pair of cute booties.
Maxi Dress Casual Outfits
Maxi dresses are the most amazing invention ever! They feel beautifully romantic and flowing, yet it’s a dress that covers everything – perfect for moms with small kids. When you bend over to pick up a toy, nothing will show.
Maxi, Jacket: Stitch Fix
Try a maxi with a bright color and bold pattern. Layer on a denim jacket and some sparkly statement jewelry.
Casual Outfits with Scarves
Scarves add color and interest to every top! If an outfit looks boring to me, I tie on a scarf and immediately feel more dressed up.

Now, go into your closet and work with these outfit combinations. I’m excited to see what you come up with!
